About Us
Lund Humphries is a long-established, independent publisher of beautifully produced books on Art, Architecture and Design. Our list encompasses books for Visual Arts scholars, professionals, students and art enthusiasts across a wide range of specialisms.
With an illustrious publishing heritage dating back to 1939, Lund Humphries is particularly known historically for its highly illustrated monographs and reference books on modern and contemporary artists. From these roots, our publishing programme has expanded to cover all periods of Art History, as well as Architecture and Design. Many of our books are published in partnership with leading museums and galleries internationally, often to accompany exhibitions.
The series Illuminating Women Artists and Northern Lights introduce a new stream of illustrated, public-facing Art History scholarship aimed at both specialists and enthusiasts.
Our pioneering list of books for art professionals has a distinctive focus on the art market, with many of the books published in association with Sotheby's Institute of Art, including the series Hot Topics in the Art World.
Re-launched in 2017, our Architecture programme has been widely praised for the seriousness and quality of its publishing for professionals and academics, and for stand-out illustrated reference volumes on architectural history and practice. Key themes covered include sustainability, housing, and the design of cities.
Lund Humphries is a privately owned, independent publishing imprint. We are a small team with many years' combined experience of working on specialist, illustrated Visual Arts books.
